Chinese Folklore Reinterpreted

Since I'm on an all-things-Asian kick lately because of Tokyo, I thought this post may be appropriate. In a series called 24 Xiao, a photographer named Liang Su reinterprets Chinese folkloric art into modern-day fashion photography. I dig the graphic effects that were used. Very aesthetically captivating. I love Su's rather neo-traditional approach to the concept of the series.

A few images from the 24 Xiao series:

I think Mr. Su and I share a common aesthetic - the collage effect. You should see my scrapbook... collaged fashion photography from magazines and prints all over the place.
美丽  <----- that means beautiful in Chinese characters.  :)
