Deep Ellum Arts Festival

This past weekend, the girls and I went to the Deep Ellum Arts Festival here in Dallas. I had never been before, but it was a blasty blast! Some photos I snapped from our day...

Vintage/antique store

Annie = 'cajun shrimp' toes, Lizz = rainbow toes. Lordy, I need a pedicure.

This little cutie got down on the cobblestone to help me chalk 'Lizz Was Here'

Sunhat montage!

And of course at an arts festival, you're bound to see fabulous local artworks...

This one was called 'Sendai' and I took a liking to it.

Body painting and some light performance art.
They had a sign that said, "Real art doesn't match your couch."

This artist was using a mosaic sort of method.

Lots of doggies wandering around!

Snowcone! What flavor did I get? Tigerblood. Fo sheezy.

Lots of jewelry tents. These were earrings and necklaces made of beautiful vintage aluminum cans.

"Longhorn-zilla" or something.

We found some art to participate in too...

It was the neatest process:  1) Mix dye and bubble stuff in a cup
2) Use a straw to blow air bubbles until they're higher than the lip of the cup
3) Lay your paper on top of the cup to pop the bubbles

The colored bubbles leave such an interesting marking on the paper!  This was my masterpiece...

Thanks Deep Ellum for the wonderful day in the sun!
