When I first saw the Spring 2012 RTW collection from Dolce & Gabbana, I thought "YES...whimsy!"
The designers were inspired by a picturesque summer in southern Italy cerca the 1950s. Even better, D&G took the flora you'd find at an outdoor farmer's market (eggplants, peppers, tomatoes, zucchinis) and splashed them in vibrant prints on midriff-baring bra tops, skirts, mini shorts and fit-and-flare dresses. Such Joie de vivre!
Lace elements were introduced into the collection
We even saw some sensual black pieces and gemstones!
Couldn't you just eat em' up? I want to wear this collection while sipping wine on the back of an antique wooden boat on the Italian coast. Vivid, but true.
