Fresh Summer Wedding Look

Friends and family, we are gathered here today to celebrate.... style!

My hubby and I will have the pleasure of traveling all over the country this summer for our friends' weddings. I love love looooove wedding season! So I had some fun and (digitally) styled an outfit I'd like to wear for a spring or summer nuptial soirée.

Mango Summer

If you're a long-time fan of Saturday Night Live, you probably know this Mango...

But did you know that there is a Mango Women's Collection? (No relation to Chris Kattan) Admittedly, I had never been formally introduced to the Mango brand. But after flipping through the Summer Lookbook featuring Edita Vilkeviciute and seeing images from the Summer campaign with supermodel Miranda Kerr, I am decidedly a fan.

Is Mango your style?

Peruvian Romance

Let's be honest: photog Mario Testino can really do no wrong! Though I'm never incredibly inspired by supermodel Kate Moss (due mainly to over-saturation of her image), she and Testino certainly paired perfectly for the April issue of Vogue Paris magazine to create a very well styled, South American-tinted editorial.

I love the mix of designer separates with Peruvian influence pieces. Fun fact: Testino is from Peru! Enjoy:

That's it - tomorrow I'm wearing a colorful headscarf, fedora and open blazer.

Lo que belleza!

Among the Redwoods

If you've ever visited Nor-Cal or chatted with a Northern Californian about their home, you know that they are very proud of their Redwood forests. And it's easy to see why! The quiet, majestic giants are quite a thing of natural beauty. My friends and I had the pleasure of recently taking a Redwood zip-line canopy tour. Exhilarating!

A few snapshots from the trip:

- 100 feet more to the top of the tree, 100 feet to the ground below -

We took the time to really appreciate our giant new friends.

What an experience, we had!

Where have you zip-lined?

Belles Fleurs

I've been especially fond of florals so far this spring. As I typed that just now, Miranda Priestly's voice popped into my head, "Florals... for spring? Groundbreaking." The idea of florals for spring isn't exactly a newfangled idea; but I think flowery prints, petal inspirations, and especially pastels are being worked in such interesting ways this season.

See Exhibits A and B below as seen in the Spring 2013 campaigns for Blumarine and Blugirl:

Body-con silhouettes are super sexy. But aren't flowing florals fantastic?

Pretty flower bouquet cones from Kinfolk magazine, vol #7.

And interesting Spring inspired styles on singer/model Sky Ferreira for S Moda. I dig mixing separates in unexpected ways!
