A Rosie Halloween

Happy Halloween, y'all! Today my friend Morgan and I dressed up as Sophia Grace and Rosie from The Ellen Show. In case you're unfamiliar, they are the cute-as-a-button British girls Ellen DeGeneres discovered on YouTube; their video singing a Nikki Minaj song word-for-word went viral.

After watching little Sophia Grace and Rosie months ago on Ellen, we decided they were the perfect Halloween costume inspiration. We made our own Ellen shirts with glitter puff paint. The wine was also necessary to the process.

The girls in my office dressed up as femme Ninja Turtles.
I guess tutu skirts are the choice accessory this Halloween!

And my father sent photos from my dogs' Halloween costumes this year:

Little Charley was a Buckin' Bronco, and Gigi was a feisty Ladybug.

And my big baby Kaiser was a Magician.
It was the only dog costume that fit his 180 pound self!

~ I hope you all had a spooky and marvelous Halloween ~

Cara le Queen

Halloween is next week! Are you assembling your costume? I've decided on mine.
Hint: it includes a tiara (not a surprise).

And speaking of tiaras, I thought you'd enjoy this stunning spread from the Vogue Australia October issue. It features one of my favorite models, Cara Delevingne, as the fashion queen she is, shining in a mix of royal and punk-inspired designer pieces. It's perfectly Fall!

Baitogogo

'Architectural anthropomorphism' the museum called this exhibit. I don't know what I'd call it aside from, 'Whoa, coooool!'

I wanted to share an amazing art installation by Brazilian artist Henrique Oliveira. The piece is called Baitogogo and showcases a captivating interplay between organic material and existing structure. Trendland describes it as "surrounding visitors in a twisted, knotted exploration of structure and material." Oliveira used tapume wood recycled from his home country. Bonito, não?

I'm sure this piece is even more amazing in person!

See more of Henrique Oliveira's spectacular works HERE at his website. You must check out his The Origin of the Third World installation from 2010.

Orange You Glad?

Today we're investigating things that can be found in the color orange. It's the color of the harvest, energy, enthusiasm, and creativity. Autumn always makes me think of orange, so I found all matter of clothing and accessory to suit the season.

Teeming with Texture

Fall is bursting with color and texture, and this spread from the October 2013 issue of Woman Madame Figaro magazine is no exception. Be not afraid of color this season, ye fashion mavens!

La Dolce (& Gabbana) Vita

There's something about the Spring 2014 Dolce & Gabbana collection that leads me to selfishly believe it was created just for me. The label had a To-DAH-For runway show at Milan Fashion Week, and as usual their vision did not disappoint. The catwalk came alive with sultry, feminine intricacies: Italian coin prints, classic polka dots, lace, floral embellishments, and crowns.

It was actually tough for me to narrow down my favorite looks, but here are my picks:

As I flipped through the runway photos, I imagined the song Crepuscolo Sul Mare by Piero Umiliani playing in the background. Watch the runway show here for moving fashion and other Italian melodies:

Get ready for a golden army around the 10:00 mark. Cosi bella!
